We’ve been asked many times when the cd version of White Hills Live at Roadburn 2011 was released: when is the vinyl version coming? Well the moment is almost upon us! We’ve been informed by the pressing plant that the album will be arriving around February 8th. After arrival we have to check it for faults and such and if we find it ok we will send it our the week after.

There are two versions of the album: a gold version of which 75 are available and which is only available in combination with a White Hills T-shirt (please state your size on Discogs or your Paypal-payment). The shirt has the David D’Andrea design that was made for the White Hills gig at Roadburn 2011. And 400 copies are on black vinyl. If you want one please head over to our Discogs store to make sure you don’t miss out.

One more thing about the shipping. Dutch postage does not have a catergory untill 500 gram any more. All packages have to be sent in the up to 2 kg category. This means residenst of all European countrys will have to pay 10 euro shipping (except Germans and Hollanders who pay around 6 euro) and the rest of the world is 17 euro. Steep prices, we know. The upside is that you can order 5 or 6 vinyls for the same shipping price.

Burning World Records is proud to present the second installment in the Lustmord vinyl re-issue series. After the release of Zoetrope double album last year, this fall we will bring you The Monstrous Soul, originally recorded and released in 1990.  The album has been described as: ‘a journey through a frozen hell’. The first 100 copies will be on green vinyl, to reflect the font color on the sleeve, the other 400 copies will be on pitch black vinyl. Running order and extra info after the break.

The 2LP will come out October 1st 2011 but is already available for pre-order, in green and black vinyl and in a nice package in combination with Zoetrope.

It took a while but now it’s finally here: Wardruna’s dark folk masterpiece Runaljod-gap var Ginnunga on double vinyl, packed in a trifold sleeve and with a nice booklet as companion. Released by Burning World Records in cooperation with Alone Records from Spain.

As Einar Kvitrafn of Wardruna describes the album:
Runaljod – gap var Ginnunga is the first part in the Runaljod trilogy. Each album features eight runes of the Elder Futhark, but not in accordance with the order of the three aettirs (families), which is most common when working with this futhark. Many of the recordings have taken place outdoors at locations relevant to the different runes. We have primarily used old, historical instruments such as self-made frame drums and ceremonial drums, mouth harp, tagelharpe (‘viking fiddle’), flutes, goat horns, tongue horns and Hardanger fiddle. Also more unconventional inputs like trees, stones, bones, water, fire etc. are employed to enhance the nature of the rune being ‘portrayed’.

We’ve made two versions of the album: one in white and the other one in black vinyl. White is limited to 100 copies, black to 400. On our new site you can order both version at once with a nice discount.

Our good friends at aQuarius Records in San Francisco have received a nice packet of Bunring World and Roadburn Records releases. Earlier this week we published the Bong review, now it’s time for their review of Gnaw Their Tongues L’Arrivee De La Terne Mort Triomphante LP.  If you are as impressed with the description as we are, please your copy in our discogs store or if you are in the US at aQuarius of course!

‘The sound here too seems a bit more lush, more produced, cleaner, but without losing any of the filth. In short: both the Wardruna – Runaljof 2LP (+ 24 page booklet) and Winterfylleth – The Mercian Sphere 2LP which were supposed to be released at Roadburn 2011 in two weeks are delayed. This happened due to a planning error at the plant. We are really sorry about this, but there’s nothing we can do at this moment.

Winterfylleth will be released halfway May 2011 and Wardruna is post-poned till half June 2011. The release of Year of no light – Live at Roadbirn 2008 CD will be ready at Roadburn.
