The album has been pressed and is being delivered to label Bird Dialect in the US as we speak and will be shipped to us next week. We will be able to ship them out in a month.

Early pioneers of Norwegian black metal Ulver have continually evolved over the years to become living legends of the dark music genre. By blending rock, electronic, industrial and symphonic traditions along with ambient soundscapes and experimental sounds, the band has created truly groundbreaking material.

Ulver returned with Childhood’s End, a collection of classic psychedelic tracks recorded by the band during various sessions starting in late 2008 and ending in late 2011. “This is the stuff that we sit at home and get stoked about,” Kristoffer Rygg explained in an interview. “I grew up with parents who were still listening to music from the time, so it informed my childhood, but it has became an ever increasing geeky sort of fetish since then.”

This passion for Sixties garage rock and psychedelia and the countless underground gems that remain unknown to many inspired the band to record their own interpretations of some of their favorite songs from the era. “My feeling is that most people’s knowledge sort of limits itself to The Doors,” said Rygg, “The Doors were cool, but there was so much else going on in the underground, records that got lost and didn’t get as much recognition as they deserved in my opinion.”

Ulver performed the tracks from Childhood’s End for the first and only time live at Roadburn 2012. Their “1967” performance, mixed by Kristoffer Rygg and mastered by Jaime Gomez Arellano, will be released on 2LP and CD through Burning World Records and available at this year’s Roadburn Festival.

That album is now available for pre-order on vinyl and cd and will be sent out the 2nd week of April 2013 or can be picked up at the Roadburn Festival 2013.

Our friends at Flenser Records in San Francisco graciously have given us the opportunity to distribute this record on this side of the ocean. Bell Witch you say? Bell Witch is a minimalist doom duo from Seattle comprised of drummer Adrian Guerra and bassist Dylan Desmond (of Samothrace fame). Uniquely sorrowful, Bell Witch is as much akin to Skepticism as they are to Codeine. Longing is an hour and 10 minutes of doomed desolation, sadness, and sorrow. Originally released on CD and digital formats by Profound Lore Records, Longing was one of the most important doom albums of 2012 featured on numerous year end lists.

Longing will be released as a gatefold double album with thick, old-style case wrapped jackets and comes with a gatefold insert. This should ship in March but delays are always possible.

New artwork has been created specifically for the vinyl version of this release by artist Bryan Proteau. The albums will be shippe dto us in March so we will be able to ship the early April 2013 hopefully.

You’ve already had your chance to check out the Bongripper sets at Roadburn through Bandcamp (if not, do it now, it’s free!), now there’s the possibility to get your hands on the double cd version of the set. We will get the 2cd in in two weeks and will send them out then (2nd week of February).

After some delays due to artwork and production stuff we can finally put the Vattnet Viskar Ep up for pre-sale. It will be available on cd and two colors vinyl: gold and black.

Who are Vattnet Viskar we hear you ask? Well people who have followed Burning World Records through the years know that we love our black metal warm and textured. Like Wolves In The Throne Room, like Winterfylleth. Like Altar of Plagues.

And now Vattnet Viskar. The band has gotten a great review on the EP in the US (Pitchfork 7.9 among other) , is picked up by Century Media Records for their first full lenght en was chosen by Stereogum as one of the 40 best new bands of 2012. Read what the website had to say:

This is the first time any The Angelic Process vinyl is available since 2007 when Burning World Records sublabel Roadburn Records released Weighing Souls With Sand on double vinyl (which by the way is catching top prices on Ebay nowadays). Roadburn Records is proud as a peacock to announce the release of the first slab of black vinyl from the mighty Obsessed in many years. Live in Koln December 29th 1992 captures the band live at their peak and is released to celebrate the bands come back on Roadburn on April 14th 2012. This one will be vinyl only. The recordings were mastered by James Plotkin.

The record (and shows) will be featuring the lineup from The Church Within; Scott “Wino” Weinrich on guitar/vocals, Greg Rogers (Goatsnake, Sonic Medusa) on drums and Guy Pinhas (Acid King, Goatsnake and Beaver) on bass.
