CONAN / SLOMATICS split LP reprint now available on 2 colors

conan-slomatics-cover2The long sold out split EP by 2 of the greatest stoner / doom bands from across the pond  (well from here on the European mainland that is) is available again after being sold out for a long time on original label Head Of Crom. We are talking about Conan and Slomatics of course.

The album has been repressed on blue and red color vinyl and in a limited amount of 500. If you need your copy please go here.

Head Of Crom described the split at the time as:

CONAN
A three piece of such sluggish might that even the Old Ones themselves are wary. Their debut album ‘Horseback Battle Hammer’ originally sold out on Throne in a very short space of time, confirming the magnetic draw their dense yet beautiful sound has. Conan explore a new-found psychedelic prowess here, yet still retain their trademark tone of impossibly low-end power. These three crushing tracks were recorded by Chris Fielding at Foel Studio, against the backdrop of a bleak gale and a howling storm. Additional vocals were contributed by spacelord Dave Anderson (ex-Hawkind / Amon Duul II), stepping up the psych-factor one notch further.

SLOMATICS
This Belfast-based trio of grandiose riff-runts have been rocking since 2004. Along the way they have amassed two albums, three splits and a slavish cult following. These Hibernian doomhounds are quirky and unlike anyone else, although it has been alleged that they share some genetic material with early Melvins. Beautiful and enticing perhaps, but undoubtedly heavy as hell.

James Plotkin (Khanate, Isis, Earth) was the natural and most brutal choice for mastering duties on both sides of the split and with beautiful artwork by Tony Roberts.

Info:

  • Limited to 500 copies on blue or red vinyl
  • Mastered by James Plotkin

SLOMATICS to release A Hocht on cd on Burning World. First track and artwork available

And the good news keep on coming. After White Hills US, Black Magician and Chelsea Wolfe another addition to the roster. Slomatics from Belfast, Ireland will release their cd A Hocht on Burning World Records in September 2012. Artwork will be provided by Tony Roberts who also did the Conan – Monnos album and the Conan / Slomatics split cd for us. Vinyl duties will be handled by UK’s own Head Of Crom Records. Mastering was done by James Plotkin.

Slomatics from Belfast reporting for duty to bring you a blitzkrieg of total chaos and destruction. As their name might indicate, these guys like it slow; Electric Wizard riffage mixed with Melvins grooves and some DNA from the New Orleans family (Eyehategod, Sourvein). With two maximum low tuned guitars, who needs a bass player anyway? As a trio, Slomatics will do enough damage as it is!

The band will play at the Incubate Festival in September here in Holland.
