Neurosis Live At Roadburn 2007 Details Announced

Posted in 2010, Artist on July 9th, 2010 by Gira1971

Neurosis Live at Roadburn

Neurot Recordings proudly unveil a brand new live album from NEUROSIS, who are undoubtedly cited as one of the most influential bands of heavy music’s experimental underworld.

The first release from NEUROSIS since 2007’s Given to the Rising, this new live album was recorded that same year in Tilburg, Holland, at the annual Roadburn Festival, where NEUROSIS headlined to a die-hard audience. The album expertly captures as much of the band’s live experience as one possibly could on a physical recording, harnessing the monolithic flow and power of the band’s well-known sonically devastating live performances. The monstrous 78-minute record showcases this iconic band surging through hymns from their last few albums, including Given To The Rising, The Eye Of Every Storm, A Sun That Never Sets, and Through Silver In Blood.

Fave review of WITTR Live at Roadburn at aQuarius Recs

Anyone fortunate enough to have seen Wolves In The Throne Room in a live setting will probably tell you the same thing: the band simply KILLS. Not to say that their albums aren’t totally amazing – they are – but seeing these guys live is an experience that will stay with you for a while. It’s probably a safe bet to assume that for many people, especially here in the states, seeing the Wolves in concert is their first exposure to live black metal. And it would certainly stand as quite an introduction to the transcendental power of true (your goddamn right it’s TRUE) black metal. While WITTR on record presents a band who really understand the importance of crafting a beautiful and well thought out collection of songs, complete with otherworldly ambience and a keen attention to production, on stage they are more inclined to rip your face off and scald your eardrums into cinders. They are unstoppable, frighteningly intense, and seriously, loud as fuck – just a few of the reasons why we are so stoked to have this new cd+dvd set chronicling the band’s 2008 set at the Roadburn Festival in the Netherlands. The sound here is upfront and relentless, and even though things are surprisingly clear, none of the band’s power is lost, if anything, this should be a good indication of how awesome they are and why their records are so damn great; WITTR isn’t some half-assed studio project by guys who are afraid or unwilling to step into the public realm, they are a REAL band, one that rocks, shreds, and destroys everything in its path. The vocals here are pretty unbelievable, maybe even better than on record, just insane throatshredding goodness and perfect for the sonic assault the band whips up. The dvd features the concert presented in an appropriately murky setting under blue light. It will probably have you longing for the actual live experience more than anything, but we certainly have no complaints. Classic stuff for sure.

Update: Church of Misery – Live at Roadburn 2009 LP/CD post-poned

Posted in 2009, Artist, Label on October 14th, 2009 by burningworldrecs

Update Okt. 14th 2009:
We are sorry to have to announce that the Church of Misery CD Live at Roadburn 2009 will have to be post-poned to early February 2010 due to a crash of the hard disc of the cover designer.
Because of this we can not make the deadlines we had for ourselves, our distributors and the pressing plant. Earliest date would have been around December and we decided because the store we run (December is the busiest month) and the time of year that this would not be a good time to give the release the attention it deserves.
We are very sorry about his but hope you will understand. In the meantime we will work hard in the extra time this creates to make the release even better than it would have been would we have released it in November.

Year of no Light – Live at Roadburn 2008 LP/DVD out now!

Yet one more band started after too many Belgian beers under the sun of the ending summer of 2001, Year of No Light slightly but undoubtly started to slide down to gloomier atmospheres as the inherent chaos of Bordeaux’s caves and harshness of winter made their common work.

As the line-up solidified around the 5 actual members escaped from acts such as Metronome Charisma, Deja Mort and Nexus Sun, the band clarified their intentions and started to build the basis of what would be their first demo recorded in 2004. More and more shows were played with bands such as Isis, Cult of Luna, High on Fire or Unsane.

The rather general critical acclaim of the demo quoting them as being “The Cure playing sludge” combined with live reviews becoming more and more encouraging compelled the band into the writing of new tracks that finally ended up being recorded at Playrec studio under the direction of Serge Morratel in the fall of 2005. The debut Nord has been released in 2006. Live at Roadburn was recorded at the famous Roadburn Festival in 2008. For the last song the band was joined on stage by Fear Falls Burning for 20 minutes of doom/drone mayhem.

500 copies were pressed up: 100 on gold vinyl, 100 on silver vinyl, 300 on black vinyl. Each copy contains a dvd of the concert, made of amateur footage shot at the gig.
