For frequent visitors of Lurker, I’m sure Gnaw Their Tongues needs no introduction. A one-man vehicle of undistilled terror and confusion, the musical territory of Gnaw Their Tongues cannot be pinned down easily. Sprawling across the raw aggression and malice of black metal, it traverses the harsher aspects of noise and drone while smashing through the perverse fringes of industrial and dark ambient. While Gnaw Their Tongues is perhaps the flagship of Mories' works, he is also the sole creative force behind the bestial, avant-garde onslaught of De Magia Veterum. Considerably more guitar-based than Morie's other projects, De Magia Veterum is a tour de force in black metal that is not limited by stagnant traditionalism and elitism, a mindset which is, thankfully, on the decline. The throbbing static drones that pour from Aderlating are also the work of our man here, a project that can be considered a more relaxing ? alternative to the visceral grind of Gnaw Their Tongues. Alex and I caught up with Mories and asked a few questions about himself, his work and what has influenced him to bear such an abhorrent, twisted and generally fucked up trio of children.

Since 2005 Dutch-based Gnaw Their Tongues has been damaging the pleasure/pain receptors in the psyches of curious (possibly masochistic) listeners with a densely orchestrated sound as alienating, chaotic, debauched and sadistic as any to appear in recent memory. ‘All The Dread Magnificence Of Perversity’, released earlier this year on Burning World, holds psychological gravity and a tangible quality that, for music in this day and age, is frankly frightening. It might sound a tad cliché, but Gnaw Their Tongues is certainly not for those with weak constitutions.

GTT- All the dread cover

New Side C/D will come in July 7 and will be shipped to those who received a wrong version at the end of the week/beginning of the following.

Unfortunately we have to inform you that due to a fuck up at the pressing plant the Gnaw Their Tongues – All the Dread 2LP (including those that are in the Wooden Box) had the same songs at side A & D. So the extra “vinyl only” songs are not on the album. The plant has admitted it’s mistake and will repress side C/D and send them to us in the next two weeks. We are very sorry about this but at this moment there is little we can do. We will send a replacement record (side C/D) to all customers to who we have already sent the records. Customers who will order in the next few days: your record will be shipped as soon as the repressed Side C/D will arrive. We will keep you posted as to when that is.

This took an enormous amount of energy, sweat and blood. Hours and hours of recording, editing, mixing. Many very late night sessions.

It contains familiar aspects of the ‘gnaw’ sound (if there is one? i think all the releases have there own sound) and also some new/unheard sounds!
