Find more info about the band below next to the sample track Vanderwaalskrachten on Bandcamp.

MONOMYTH, unleashed from The Netherlands, is the journey . . .the five who explore and expand the boundaries of their own musical universe. Firmly rooted in Space, Trance and Krautrock, the band leans heavily on a solid foundation of drums and bass guitar, while adding guitar, keyboards and textures layer upon layer. MONOMYTH will drag you inside their cosmic playground. Enter an arena where there is no more time or space, simply the vacuum in which communication is operated on a higher level. You can enter in two ways . . . simply by closing your eyes and letting the instrumental music transport you, or with eyes wide open as you descend into the mind staggering light show.

HAIKAI NO KU to release Sick On My Journey album on Burning World Records

Haikai No Ku Sick On My Journey SleeveHaikai No Ku – the brainchild of Bong guitarist Mike Vest, Sam Booth and Jerome Smith – will release it’s first album on Burning World Records this august. The release will be available on cd, vinyl and digital.

The band has been described as: “Death Toll Blues” . Ear damaging psych heavily influenced by Japanese bands like Mainliner, Les Rallizes Denudes etc. Crashing drums and Bass lay down the framework for fiery guitar attacks to lash across peoples faces. Expect dirge, noise and astral planes.

And:

New Newcastle supergroup featuring Mike Vest (Drunk In Hell, Bong, Master Slave,Ramesses, Basillica, Obey, etc), Jerome Smith (Female Borstal) and Sam Booth (Fooot Hair, Obey). Phew! Haikai No Ku play some of the most morose, damaged blues psych we’ve heard in years: death-toll bass and crashing drums lead the way for a solitary guitar line obliterated by total psychedelic guitar scree. Songs start off as loose jams that slowly build up to utter brain-melting acid psychedelia. Early Ramleh gone deathrock?

All ‘Live At Roadburn’ albums now for free on Bandcamp

Bong-Live-At-Roadburn-2010Why not start the new year in the spirit of sharing, we at the Burning World Headquarters thought. So from now on all ‘Live At Roadburn’ albums that we have the digital rights to will be free. Digitally that is. CD’s and vinyl still have to be bought  😉

So this is your chance to listen back to gigs by: Wolves In The Throne Room, Yob, White Hills, Bong, Wino among other. Put them on your iPod, burn em on a disc for your car, delete them if you don’t like them. It’s all fine with us.

The more people listen to the music we put out, the more we like it. So get over to the Burning World  Bandcamp page and download or listen away.

There is only minor one catch: if you pay nothing (which is fine by us) you’ll have to leave your mailaddress. We promise we will only mail you one with a big unsubscribe button in there so no harm done. Or maybe you’ll like to keep updated once a month on what’s going on at Roadburn Records and Burning World Records.

Check out Wino’s Live At Roadburn below for instance. It’s smokin’!

Burning World Records to release Vattnet Viskar EP in Europe

Burning World Records is proud to announce that we are releasing Vatnet Viskar’s debut EP in Europe this fall. The American foursome from New England received favourable reviews all round when the EP came out in the US in March of this year. Metalblast.net maybe says it best:

“While their contemporaries traffic in pristine production and unearthly Alcestian shimmers, these guys are far more raw and immediate. Everything’s still distinguishable and there’s no muddy maelstrom of impenetrable noise, but there’s just enough of a filthy edge for it to be considered a black metal album. And the compositions are top-notch. These guys have a great grasp of harmony through black metal riffs – it’s not quite on the same level as the Steve Reichian neoclassicalisms of Wolves in the Throne Room, but it’s definitely well on its way to getting there.”

This release has been described on Pitchfork (7.9!) as “Aside from some surprisingly wide-eyed lyrics that explore general themes of existential nihilism and a desire to tear down antiquated systems and build anew, none of those concerns really become a factor here. Vattnet Viskar is simply a strong start from a band that has tapped into the current transmogrification of black metal and proclaimed– quickly, restlessly, and enthusiastically– that it has something to say about the process.”

If you want to know more about the infkluences of the band please check the mixtape they made at Sonic CVLT Nation here.

The EP will be out on cd, vinyl and digital through Burning World Records in November.

SLOMATICS to release A Hocht on cd on Burning World. First track and artwork available

And the good news keep on coming. After White Hills US, Black Magician and Chelsea Wolfe another addition to the roster. Slomatics from Belfast, Ireland will release their cd A Hocht on Burning World Records in September 2012. Artwork will be provided by Tony Roberts who also did the Conan – Monnos album and the Conan / Slomatics split cd for us. Vinyl duties will be handled by UK’s own Head Of Crom Records. Mastering was done by James Plotkin.

Slomatics from Belfast reporting for duty to bring you a blitzkrieg of total chaos and destruction. As their name might indicate, these guys like it slow; Electric Wizard riffage mixed with Melvins grooves and some DNA from the New Orleans family (Eyehategod, Sourvein). With two maximum low tuned guitars, who needs a bass player anyway? As a trio, Slomatics will do enough damage as it is!

The band will play at the Incubate Festival in September here in Holland.
