Burning World Records is proud to present the exclusive European pre-order for the Black Mare – Field of the Host LP that is going to be released in the US on The Crossing. Because of the steep shipping rate from the US to Europe The Crossing has asked us to take care of the European fans of Black Mare and of course we said yes!  Why, you ask? Bongripper Live At Roadburn 2012 was released as ‘pay what you want’ digital download in December on Bandcamp. Bongripper Live At Roadburn 2012 was released as 2CD in February of this year. But now it’s time for the vinyl fans (like we are!) to get their fix. The Bongripper Live At Roadburn 2012 2LP will arrive at the doorstep of the Burning World Records shop in Nijmegen in the last week of March. We will check the record then and start sending them out the first week of April.  Or – if needed – we can save till the Roadburn Festival 2013 and have them ready for you there.

The record will be released in 3 versions:

- gold vinyl (100 copies, only available in the Burning World Store) 21 euro
- white vinyl (300 copies, these will be available in the Burning World Store  and in the USA) 19 euro
- black vinyl (600 copies), these will be available in the shops and wholesale 19 euro

And we made a special sale item for the Bongripper afficionade who needs all 3 versions of the release for 50 euro, which is a discount of 3 euro per item.

PS we will probably list the Ulver Live At Roadburn 2012 2LP this Friday or early next week. If you are interested in both, of course we will combine shipping and refund double shipping if needed.

It’s been a while since the last update (mainly my fault  as I was putting the Ulver and Bongripper vinyl into production) but here it is again. A new vinyl update with the added bonus that if you are going to Roadburn Festival 2013 and want to pick up the items there you can just put “Roadburn Pick-up” in the comments of the Paypal-payment and we’ll refund you the shipping costs right away. Burning World Records is proud to present the exlcusive European pre-sale of the doom masterpiece Longing by Bell Witch on double vinyl. Our friends at Flenser Records in San Francisco graciously have given us the opportunity to distribute this record on this side of the ocean. Bell Witch you say? Bell Witch is a minimalist doom duo from Seattle comprised of drummer Adrian Guerra and bassist Dylan Desmond (of Samothrace fame). Uniquely sorrowful, Bell Witch is as much akin to Skepticism as they are to Codeine. Longing is an hour and 10 minutes of doomed desolation, sadness, and sorrow. Originally released on CD and digital formats by Profound Lore Records, Longing was one of the most important doom albums of 2012 featured on numerous year end lists.

Longing will be released as a gatefold double album with thick, old-style case wrapped jackets and comes with a gatefold insert. This should ship in March but delays are always possible.

New artwork has been created specifically for the vinyl version of this release by artist Bryan Proteau. The albums will be shippe dto us in March so we will be able to ship the early April 2013 hopefully.

Conan is coming for you the next few weeks (and in late March/April again with Bongripper). Be sure not to miss them live on tour starting this Friday. Here’s the official statement with the dates:

Back in April 2012 two bands shared the attention of a devoted crowd, spread across different stages at what was for them their first ever appearances in mainland Europe. Roadburn Records is proud to present another installment in the ‘Live at Roadburn’-series. Conan’s Mount Wrath: Live At Roadburn 2012 is only available digitally for now. February/March will see the release of the CD and the vinyl around the end of March.

As we want as many people to hear these great sets we decided to do the digital version on a “pay what you want or ”name your price” basis.

For those who need the real thing and want to be sure to get one we have already put up both cd and vinyl up for pre-order. But beware: cd’s will be sent of in two weeks, vinyl at the end of March 2013.

If you have a small wallet due to the expensive holiday season, just pick it up for free and enjoy it! If you got some more money to spend and want to support the band and the label, you can name your own price. In the meantime the stream from Bandcamp itself is free, so if you don’t want to leave your email address when you want to download it for free, you can just enjoy the album from our Bandcamp site.

You’ve already had your chance to check out the Bongripper sets at Roadburn through Bandcamp (if not, do it now, it’s free!), now there’s the possibility to get your hands on the double cd version of the set. We will get the 2cd in in two weeks and will send them out then (2nd week of February).

And because the Conan Live At Roadburn CD will be out a few weeks later you can also order a package of the two for a nice price. The two bands will embark on a European tour in April. The package will be sent as soon as the Conan cd has arrived.

Roadburn Records is proud to announce the third show from Roadburn 2012 to make it to an official release. After Chelsea Wolfe and Bongripper, the mighty Conan gets the Live At Roadburn treatment. The gig the British threesome did in Stage 1 was massive and left many a spectator standing with their mouths open and their ears closed. The band calls the album: Mount Wrath – Live At Roadburn.

But who can say it better than our good friend Adam Stone from Head of Crom Records who said it like this in his Roadburn Festival 2012 review for The Sleeping Shaman:

‘The band were in obviously ebullient form, stoked at playing this legendary festival and also being asked to join Sleep in Oslo, as selections from the new and monstrous ‘Monnos’ were intermingled with the huge and bulldozing force of classics like ‘Krull’ and ‘Older Than Earth’. Jon’s instantly likeable faraway vocals have never sounded more realised to these ears, and the audience were massively appreciative of Conan’s true wallop as the Stonehenge of amps that framed the band belched out universe-sized slices of ultra low-end hostility. A special mention too for Paul O’Neil’s expert drumming which represents the kind of versatility and intelligence that one would not usually expect with this most primal of genres, truly adding colour to the palette. By the end of the set I had cunningly worked my way into the centre of the room and believe me I was not regretful of the deoxygenated crush of Stage 01 – Conan had finally arrived on the international stage like the great wrecking ball that they have always been and I needed to be there to witness their special Roadburn moment. I toast thee lads – you are truly monolithic. ‘

The live recordings were mixed and mastered again by James Plotkin in New York just like he did for the Monnos album.

The album will be released digitally first at February 1st, the cd will be out one month later (accompagnied bij a secret release party somewhere… ) and the vinyl version will be out April 1st. In time for the Conan tour with the mighty Bongripper.

We just received a large packet from the Greek Therapeutic/Adverse Recordings who apparoached us if we wanted to carry some SPK live cd’s in our distro. After listening to the sample discs the label sent we did not have to think twice and mailed back: hell yes! These are high quality soundboard (or at leas very near the sound board!) recordings of one of the seminal 80 industrial bands live. There are two cd’s available:

• Field Report San Francisco (1981)
• Case Study London (1982/1983)

Apparently the artist Lustmord got a similar packet and he wrote this on his blog about the releases:  ”The release is interesting for me personally as it includes a show where I was at the mixing desk (London, Heaven 1982) and another from when I was more actively involved in SPK as a member, performing material I had contributed too (London, Brixton April 1982). 

Why not start the new year in the spirit of sharing, we at the Burning World Headquarters thought. So from now on all ‘Live At Roadburn’ albums that we have the digital rights to will be free. Digitally that is. CD’s and vinyl still have to be bought  ;-)

So this is your chance to listen back to gigs by: Wolves In The Throne Room, Yob, White Hills, Bong, Wino among other. Put them on your iPod, burn em on a disc for your car, delete them if you don’t like them. It’s all fine with us.
