BURNING WORLD RECORDS ‘going through changes’ statement

GDOB2-30CH-001.cdrAs you might have noticed Burning World Records and Roadburn Records have not been as active as we once were. That sounds ominous but don’t be afraid: for every ending there is a new beginning! Reason for the relative quiet period (the mail order went on as usual) is that JP has decided to quid Burning World / Roadburn Records per januari 1st 2017. Reason is he wants to focus on his comicstore Senor Hernandez .

SUBROSA For This We Fought the Battle of Ages & More Constant Than The Gods vinyl now available

for-this-we-fought-the-battle-of-ages-pre-order-double-lpWe at Burning World Records have been a fan of Subrosa for many years. And when we saw them live on Roadburn Festival 2015 we were blown away. A live album was in the works but sadly the recordings had a glitch so we couldnt use them. But who knows what isin the future!

Buy For This We Fought the Battle of Ages & More Constant Than The Gods in our online store.

For now we console ourselves with the new album For This We Fought the Battle of Ages that has just come in on vinyl. With once again beautifull artwork by Glyn Smyth that also was used for predessesor More Constant Than The Gods  which is also repressed for the ocasson.

Listen to the track Killer Rapture on Soundcloud below:

As Terrorizer says:

“In a constant emotional whirlwind, Sarah Pendleton and Kim Pack’s violins come across as an unpredictable, labyrinthine driving force, while the luxurious rhythm section of Levi Hanna and Andy Patterson (the drumming latter also deserving accolades for his terrific engineering and mixing job – this music needs to sound huge to really work, and it does) lay down the amount of foundation necessary for each part, from crushing doom grooves to a gentle accompanying rumble.” – Jose Carlos Santos

If you want to hear the Sunn – Kannon album streaming in advance please go over to Rolling Stone to stream it in full: “Sunn O))), the Mark Rothkos of void-painting expressionist metal, are returning next month with their first studio album in six years — ending the longest wait between blasts in the band’s 15 year history. Kannon, released on co-leader Greg Anderson’s Southern Lord Records, strips the band down from the baroque orchestral arrangements of 2009’s Monoliths and Dimensions, instead opting for a three-song cycle that Anderson calls “a fairly accurate reflection of … the power of the group live.”

SLOMATICS Estron LP on orange vinyl available for pre-sale

Slomatics-Estron-ArtworkBack by popular demand! We just got word back from the plant that the repress of Estron by Slomatics on orange vinyl will be with us early march 2015. This will mean in time for Roadburn and in time to send it out to you 2nd week of march. SO get in on the action and order here.

The album is widely recognised as one of the best things Slomatics have done and it’s still getting picked up here and there as one of the top albums of last year.

As The Quietus said in their metal end of year list:

“With cover art that looks like a cross between something they forgot to include in Dune and a scene from the most awesome episode of Bravestarr ever made, it’s hard to fathom why Estron has so far been so overlooked… Where this trio of Belfast based bastards of the bludgeon have triumphed is in tweaking their sound just enough that Estron contains more than a few surprises when compared to its predecessor, A Hocht, whilst still dragging behind it the same monstrously sluggish slew of brain-injuring riffs that they’ve become known for. As [does] the Blade Runner-gone wrong ‘Red Dawn’ and the all-encompassing epic closer ‘The Carpenter’.”
