A discovery of folk music from dark Britannica. ‘John Barleycorn Reborn’ explores seasonal birth, death and rebirth on this 4LP. Originally released in 2007 on 2CD by Cold Spring and now in a 4Lp box with extensive booklet on Burning World Records in December 2017.
This compilation explores the darker side of British folk music, evoking the mystery of our ancient past and peoples, the strangeness of their beliefs, arcane traditions and the remnants of this carried down the centuries as folklore. The set has an extended booklet with articles, essays and explorations of the album’s concept.
The album was compiled as a co operation between Cold Spring and Woven Wheat Whispers. Curated by Mark Coyle.

The Angelic Process has just released ...And Your Blood Is Full Of Honey on Bandcamp. The release – originally only available on cd in 2001 via Crucial Blast and in the We All Die Laughing box set – is now available on the Burning World Records bandcamp page (or listen directly below)
The release will also be available for the first time ever on vinyl. It is to be included in the We All Die Laughing Box set of which you can see a photo of the sample version on this page. The release will be out 1st week of December, pre-orders start one month before the release date.
Winter is coming… so you’ll need some good music to keep you company on those dark and cold nights. For that purpose we will release 2 records the next months and we’ll start pre-orders right now! One one Roadburn Records: SLOMATICS Futurians Live At Roadburn (2017) and one on Burning World Records: The debut album by UK’s premium noise rock (or more noise then rock actually) purveyors DRUNK IN HELL.
SLOMATICS Futurians Live At Roadburn (2017) will be available on clear white vinyl and will be pressed in an edition of 300. You can get the album alone or in a package deal with Estron. Get the record(s) here.
With DRUNK IN HELL pre-orders are more complex. There is a limited edition of 100 on brown vinyl and you can get it in a package with both a CD PRE-CUM II (only available together with the S/T vinyl) and a shirt. And there is the black vinyl version of which we pressed 400. Get the records/cd/shirt here.
Burning World Records is set to release a box set of the complete works of cult favourites The Angelic Process on vinyl in December 2017. Included in the box, titled We All Die Laughing, set will be all material the band deemed fit for release starting with … And Your Blood Is Full Of Honey from 2001 and ending with Weighing Souls With Sand from 2007 that was released earlier on vinyl by Roadburn Records (2007) and Burning World Records (2016).
The box set will contain:
… And Your Blood Is Full Of Honey LP (2001)
Coma Wearing LP (2003)
Sigh EP LP (2006)
We All Die Laughing LP (2006)
Weighing Souls With Sand 2LP (2007)
So 6 slabs of vinyl in total, all with new artwork by Maurice de Jong (Gnaw Their Tongues) who already did the re-issues of Coma Wearing and Weighing Souls With Sand. The first 100 copies sold on our website will also include a cd with the material of the Solipsis promo cd the band send to a coupe of labels at the time.
The box set will also be available in a digital form with most of the material being available for the first time ever.
The countdown begins! We are very excited to share with you the release date, album title, tracklist, artwork and first single of our first full-length record. The album is called “Doppelgänger” and will be released worldwide on the 11th of July. As you already know, CD version will be released by XTREEM MUSIC and vinyl and digital versions will be released by Burning World Label & Mailorder / Roadburn Records. The tracklist for “Doppelgänger” is:
1 – Delusion of negation (8:48)
2 – Satan beside you (14:03)
3 – Doppelgänger (21:31)
After more than one year playing those three songs live, it made sense to us to record them properly and share them will all of you, just as we pictured them in our heads from the very beginning. They represent the first year and a half of Totengott’s own music and we believe that they work together as a killer unit. Almost 45 minutes of darkness, doom, atmosphere, misery and thrashing oppression. “Doppelgänger” was recorded, produced and mixed by Totengott at Anglagard Recording Studios, and was mastered by James Plotkin (known for his work with Conan, Electric Wizard, Isis, Amenra…). “Delusion of Negation” is the 1st single and the opening track of the album. It represents the thrashiest / rawest face of the band and all old school fans will love it. You can listen to it and see the “Doppelgänger” album below:
Band: Celestial Bodies
Album: Spit Forth From Chaos
Label: Burning World Records
Availability: Pre-order (click=shop). Ships out 1st week of April 2017.
“In the beginning, there was nothing but the energy of chaos. Absu and Tiamat slept, and dreamed their darkest dreams. And all was good until their dark dreams began to spawn the cosmic gods. Tiamat and Absu were disgusted by these abominations. Their wailing disturbed Tiamat’s and Absu’s sleep. Absu and Tiamat agreed that these worthless abominations must be destroyed…”
With such a premise – a cosmic war between monstrous deities from an ancient, mythological past – it doesn’t come as a surprise that CELESTIAL BODIES’ debut, “Spit Forth From Chaos”, is one of the most intense, hallucinating and mind-shattering sonic experiences ever put on record. A duo based in The Netherlands and comprised of members from Nihill and Dead Neanderthals, CELESTIAL BODIES are exactly the fruit of their unholy union. From Nihill they inherited the pitch-black and noise-drenched sound, as well as a conceptual approach with deep roots in gnosticism and occultism, while from Dead Neanderthals they borrowed the avant-garde sensibility and the free-jazz nature built on improvisation.
In honour of Slomatics appearance at the Roadburn Festival 2017 this April we are very happy to announce that their last album Estron is back in print on vinyl. The rerelease of the original Head Of Crom-vinyl was sold out in months so we decided to do another run. 300 copies pressed on white vinyl this time around. Please note:
This is a pre-order. Items will be sent out 3rd week of March 2017.
Roadburn Festival 2017 pick-up is also possible. Please mail email@example.com if this applies to you. We’ll refund you your shipping costs right away.
Dual-guitar riff excavators Slomatics released their fourth full-length, Estron, last year on Burning World Records, and for those who’d worship at an altar of tone, it makes a suitable icon. The Belfast, Northern Ireland, trio roll out sans bass but want nothing for low end, Chris Couzens and David Majury contributing tectonic force on songs like “Tunnel Dragger” and “Lost Punisher” while drummer/vocalist Marty Harvey (also of War Iron) sets the lurch in motion, his voice echoing deep from within the band’s well-honed morass. Songs are spacious but consuming and full, and on the 38-minute offering there’s really only one moment of letup: the two-minute ambient interlude “Red Dawn” that precedes closer “The Carpenter” (also the longest track at 10:26). Beyond that, Slomatics offer few opportunities (some, but few) to let the air back into their listeners’ lungs, and that’s clearly the idea. Estron marked not only their fourth long-player, but also their first decade in the band, Couzens and Majury having started Slomatics in 2004 and Harvey joining in 2011 between their breakout split with Conan (review here) and 2012’s A Hocht full-length, released on Head of Crom. In that decade, and in any case well before they got around to Estron, Couzens and Majury figured out what they wanted from their assault, and Estron bears the fruit of their hammering-out. Though slow-moving, the album is fluid front to back, and it thanks in no small part to Harvey‘s vocals, it has a sense of melody to complement its crushing, nigh-on-claustrophobic tonality.
As of January 1st 2017 Burning World Records, together with sublabels Burning Inside Records and Roadburn Records, has joined Southern Lord Europe distribution.
Southern Lord Europe will carry all available titles of our 3 labels and make them available to all their contacts.

As a result of JP leaving we still have some stock between us that has to go. That is why we decided to blow it out all at once in this December sale. Gives you a chance to complete your Burning World Records or Roadburn Records collection. Here’s the list of items we have seriously lowered in price. We decided also to include some record from the mailorder that we still have a lot stock of. This offer will run till January 1st 2017. Prices will revert back to ‘normal’ then.
All records are great as far as we are concerned, or even brilliant if you ask us. Why would we otherwise have released them? 😉 But if you decide to pick up only one we advise to check out the Seirom album. It’s Mories from Gnaw Their Tongues showing his softer. shoegazy side (Bandcamp!) and the record is a modern day classic to our ears. Hope you agree! The price is behind the titles:
