Burning World records is proud to present a new release looming large on the horizon. Slow Day from doomgazers Gena from Russia will be released digitally today and on limited edition vinyl in September 2018.
Don’t know what doomgaze is? We did not either till we read the article below in Arctic Drones in which next to Gena The Angelic Process, Planning for A burial and Jesu are also featured. Here’s their definition of doomgaze:
Doomgaze is a crossover subgenre fusing deliberately paced, heavy and repetitive doom drones and mellower shoegaze layers. The style is typically defined by a heavy emphasis on atmosphere and an extensive use of reverb, distortion and feedback.
They describe Gena as follows:
No one can question the power that Gena capture on their recordings, and the first song on their 2015 album Slow Day attests to that. “Past” is perhaps one of the best intro songs in this genre, and it’s undeniable grandiosity will lock you in for the rest of the album. True to the name, the songs keep to slow tempos while doom-filled guitars crash against the droning undertones. While some lean toward instrumental bands in this realm of music, the vocals Gena present fit the aesthetic perfectly.
Each song is a new concept, giving forth new ideas and various genre blends like post-metal and shoegaze while keeping the overall vibe of doom and gloom. This album should be a go-to for people looking to experience more in this realm of music, especially as it represents the genre well whilst simultaneously distinguishing its own distinct “Gena” sound.

You could say we are on a Slomatics roll here. After releasing A Hocht, Estron and the Conan split on cd in the past, last year we did a vinyl repress of Estron (originally on Head Of Crom) and gave their live set at Roadburn 2017 a vinyl rendition. And we are not done.
Next up is a vinyl repress of their 2012 masterpiece A Hocht (can you say Return To Kraken or Tramontane? Both futured on the Futurians Live At Roadburn release). Also originally on Head Of Crom. This version is on blood red vinyl and comes in a limited edition of 300.
We’ve also priced the Futurians record a bit lower so you can pick them up together for a good price. And Black Bow will send us some of the Slomatics / Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard on both colors so you can get those in one go as well.
More pictures of the record after the break.

Roadburn Records is proud to (finally!!!) present two vinyl versions of releases that were only available on cd and digital. First up is Subrosa’s beautiful Subdued set at last years Roadburn Festival. The set was described by JJ Kocsan at The Obelisk as: “It is a reminder of the power a live performance can have and, again, as rich an experience as I’ve ever had in that regard.” The album is available on gold, white and black vinyl of which the gold one is traditionally the most limited: only 100 copies of those.

Also Salem’s Pot 2015 set at the famous festival in Tilburg is now available for pre-order. We used the same set up as for the Subrosa album, it is available on gold (100), white and black vinyl.
The first ever live album by Salem’s Pot, recorded during the 2015 edition of the prestigious Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, the Netherlands. With this release Salem’s Pot will destroy your mind. The band offers the same kind of winking tease employed by those low budget horror films of the ’70s and ’80s, which essentially dared audiences to experience what they knew they wanted, but couldn’t possibly expect.
Pre-order Salem’s Pot Live At Roadburn 2015 on gold, white or black vinyl here.
Also available for reduced prices are other Live At Roadburn albums like those of Uzala, Dead To A Dying World, GNOD, Slomatics.
