Update: Church of Misery – Live at Roadburn 2009 LP/CD post-poned

Posted in 2009, Artist, Label on October 14th, 2009 by burningworldrecs

Update Okt. 14th 2009:
We are sorry to have to announce that the Church of Misery CD Live at Roadburn 2009 will have to be post-poned to early February 2010 due to a crash of the hard disc of the cover designer.
Because of this we can not make the deadlines we had for ourselves, our distributors and the pressing plant. Earliest date would have been around December and we decided because the store we run (December is the busiest month) and the time of year that this would not be a good time to give the release the attention it deserves.
We are very sorry about his but hope you will understand. In the meantime we will work hard in the extra time this creates to make the release even better than it would have been would we have released it in November.

(Original message) Roadburn Records is proud to present that everybody’s favourite Japanese stonersludge outfit Church of Misery will release their 2009 nightshow at Roadburn on CD and LP on our label. The night was recorded in multi track and will be mixed and mastered by Marcel van de Vondervoort of Torture Garden Studio fame who also was at the helm for the Wolves in The Throne Room live album.

After releases by Wolves in the Throne Room (2008) and Year of no Light (2008), Church of Misery Live at Roadburn 2009 will be the third installment in our live series. Watch the clip below for a glance of the electrifying atmosphere that evening. The album will be out later this year in november/december.

Some new reviews of Gnaw Their Tongues – All the Dread … have arrived in our offices. As we expected people wehere terrified of the album but at the same time fascinated. Some quotes: “Prepare for the fright of your life with this one, people“, “While to the casual listener, this might come off as the soundtrack to your worst nightmare, it is actually a brilliant, minimalist, gorecore sympathy.”, “Those of you fond of consuming your music in altered states should note that skipping the psychedelics is strongly recommended, at least on first listen — this is soul-scraping stuff, and unnerving enough to hear while stone cold sober.” and to top it off:  “WAY recommended, as with past GGT releases…“. Please check the full reviews below.
